8/9 Days Lemosho Route

This long, little-used route parallels the lower part of the Shira Route. Steppe Dogs Adventures Ltd leads treks up the Lemosho Route. The Lemosho Route is an unspoiled, remote, little-used, and beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau. Above the plateau, you approach Kilimanjaro's great western Breach, then follow the south circuit to reach the easier Barafu Route. This is one of the few routes where an armed ranger accompanies our groups, since there are still animals in the forest around the Lemosho Glades.

There is a stunning view into the Ash Pit, and this itinerary crosses the Shira Plateau. It takes in the glades on the Lemosho Route as well as the drive to high altitude on the first day which takes us through magnificent scenery with views of the Great Rift Valley, Mt Meru and Longido.

Day 1: JRO Airport – Moshi Town

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport; meet by our knowledgeable driver guide, after greetings and double check your bags will transfer you to Moshi town (35 minutes’ drive). Briefing will be provided by your Kilimanjaro professional and experienced guide. Your Kilimanjaro guide will also check your climbing equipments. Anything missing can be rented for you.
